It's difficult to put cameras into categories...for example, 'Boxes' or 'Simple Ones'. Many of these cameras are not much more than boxes, and actually may be even more simple than some in the 'Boxes' category. But when I tried to divide up the cameras I had collected into categories, something made me create this category apart from the Boxes category. Maybe it was that the cameras made of plastic and bakelite made them feel not quite boxes. They may be from the same time, but they were of a different expectation or dream. They were designed with a futuristic eye, a stepping stone for those who still carried the boxes...just not too broad of a step.
